Hi:

I visited a home and garden show in East Lansing, Michigan (home of Michigan
State University Spartans!!!!!!!) on Saturday.  Had a chance to meet Jeff
Ball  and finally put a face to a name.  You ought to hear his talk about
taking care of lawns!  If I did my own lawncare, I would be changing methods
immediately.  I tried to explain it to my dad (age 73) yesterday but doubt
I'll change him much.  He still thinks straight row planting is the way to
go.

While there, I ran into the only book publisher present -- Lone Pine Press.
If you aren't familiar with this press, take a look.  I think they are a
fine example of publishing for regional gardening interests and are
expanding from publishing about the west to including all of North America.
They just published Annuals of Michigan and Perennials of Michigan and had
the author autographing the books at this show.  Their website is:
