RE: Red Ribbon Bulb site opens April 1

Gerald,

Thanks for you interest.  Bulbs are on sale until Sept 15 -- but for the
biggest percentage and to win prizes, we are hoping people will order by
July 15.  

Here's what's will be posted on the website.

Win Prizes!
Order before July 15th and your name will be entered into a drawing for
one of the following prizes:

.	25 pairs of wooden shoes for an entire classroom (5 prizes)
.	1,000 red tulip or anemone bulbs (5 prizes) 

Drawing for the prizes will take place on Monday, July 22nd.  Winners
will be announced on the internet (www.redribbon.org) on Tuesday, July
23rd.  

All other Red Ribbon Week bulb orders must be placed no later than
September 15, 2002 to guarantee arrival by October 23rd, National Plant
the Promise Day.  

For Southern STARS AND STRIPES PATRIOTIC PACKAGES
Heat and Deer Resistant Patriotic Package - This bulb package includes
105 red, white and blue anemone bulbs.  These bulbs will likely bloom in
January. The patriotic Stars and Stripes Heat and Deer Resistant bulb
package is for participants living in hot climates such as South Florida
and some parts of California, or where deer are a problem.  Anemones,
which deer don't eat, do well in Climate Zones 2 --10 where tulips,
daffodils and hyacinths will not grow because of high temperatures.  
CLASSIC RED 
Classic Heat and Dear Resistant Anemone Package -The Classic Red Ribbon
Anemone package comes in two sizes-Large (105 bulbs) and Small (35
bulbs).  Blooming time for these bulbs is January. Anemone bulbs do very
well in Climate Zones 2 - 10, where it is hot and there are deer.

Stars and Stripes Heat and Deer Resistant Patriotic Package ($30.00 +
Shipping) Includes 35 red anemone bulbs, 35 white anemone bulbs and 35
blue anemone bulbs. Classic Large Anemone Package ($30.00 + Shipping)

Shipping) Includes 35 red anemone bulbs.

Interesting. I've already done my columns for May, so I can't include
the 
info until June. Will bulbs be on sale until then? How long does the
program 
last? If ordered, when would bulbs be shipped? What bulbs will be 
available--tulips aren't that great in Southern California, have to be 
pre-chilled and then taken up, but all narcissus, anemones, Dutch iris,
etc.
