Re: Proven Winners
I have been there two or three times, since it's more or less in my
backyard--less than 80 miles--and I interviewed the head guy once. They have
extensive connections with a good many plantsmen in the world and do come up
with some real winners, and some duds. They were the ones, I believe, who
originally promoted the "Supertunia" which was less than super, in my view.
There was some criticism on their offerings as being good only as container
plants, but I haven't found that to be true. They appear to be good growers,
have come up with some real interesting cultivars, all that I have tried here
in SoCal being above average. I think they really got verbena tenuisecta
going on the market--we tried the wild variety when I was with Bodger Seeds,
with limited success.
