Re: Mycorrhizal Fungi Products

Hi Rose Marie,
Whitney Farms contacted me directly. Evidently, one of their staff is on
the listserv. Are the flower show over? Can you breathe a sign of relief
yet? I have news. My husband finally found the perfect job--what he was
doing for years in Texas--designing the electronics for pacemakers. The
company that hired him makes hybrids (the miniature computers the size of a
dime) for hearing aids, brain and spine implants, too. He moved to
Minneapolis today and will start the new job on Monday. He had been working
for Borg-Indak in Wisconsin, but he got this offer, and the money, job
satisfaction and area were so much better. House is up for sale. The
realtor is having an open house tomorrow. I'm here until it sells. Pete is
in a corporate apartment in the interim. People here are very rigid, so I
don't think we will have serious buyers until May, when the tulips and
lilacs bloom and the kids are less than a month from summer vacation. The
realtor told me that people here will only buy houses during the months of
May, June, July and August. The only houses they sell otherwise are to
people relocating due to jobs. Hopefully, I'll get to plant a garden in
Minneapolis. The housing cost there is astronomical due to the low
unemployment rate (>2 percent), high tech employers that pay well and low
interest rates. Houses are higher there than in Chicago. We will probably
have to pay $200 or more a square foot. It's almost as bad as California.
So...that's the news here. Frankly, I'm happy this is all over, and things
are settled. 2002 was a very tough year I'd just as soon forget about. We
can finally stay in one spot for the next 8 years until we retire to a more
temperate climate.
Doreen
