mycorrhizal fungi
Well, I can't speak for other garden writers but my first column on this was nearly five years ago and I've done at least one follow up. There is still a lot to be learned in this area though and as our arborist is quick to point out it's not yet a precise science and not completely without controversy. Having said that though I confess that when we finished a major construction project on the farm two years ago we spent close to $40,000 for soil injections of the fungi and we've been very pleased (with the uncontrolled and unscientific) results.
