Messenger in Alaska was not commericalism

Should columns endorse or suggest products? There are endorsements that
benefit the columnist and then there are those that benefit the gardener. In
this instance, I make nothing out of promoting Messenger, but my readers
will all get something that no other company or product offers. And for us
here in Alaska, this particular product has the potential of helping us with
a real problem....a too short season. Commercialism? Come on. I don't know
how one can write a garden column and not give specific product advice when
it is warranted.

As for testing the product, I did. Eden gave GWA members samples a few years
back as part of a program they were doing with the American Rose Society.
You may also note from a google search that Marijuana growers love the
stuff. That is actually a pretty good endorsement, shocking as that may
sound to some!

Cheers,

Jeff
