Title: Pressurized timbers
I am going to jump into the fray a bit reluctantly here...
CCA is not the only treatment for pressurized wood.
According to my sources, the discussion about CCA treated wood for
this kind of application is moot:
"The industry no longer produces traditional treated wood for most residential and agricultural applications. The present treatment (we use) is not CCA (chromated copper arsenate) but one of two "next generation" preservatives...copper azole. Our competitors manufacture a similar preservative called alkaline copper quaternary.
More information on our brand, Wolmanized(R) Natural Select(tm) wood, appears at www.naturalselect.com."
The site also has a link to a safety study for copper azole
treated wood.
