Re: follow-up...PAR Booklets, etc.

I would also like to jump on that wagon...

Where could I get 50 PAR booklets or anything else I could get 50 of...
for my Michigan Garden trip?

Also needed are single samples of garden tools or products...please!

Thanks so much

I will send some seeds off to you today.
You might get some GWA PAR brochures to put in your gift packets too.
Good luck,
Elizabeth

Hello Elizabeth:

Could I get in line for seed packets (or anthing else you have 50 of) to be given to members of the Americn Ivy Society who will be attending the  annual convention to be held this year in Seattle.  I am trying to put together little gift packages to give to each of the 50  attendees.  Considering how some peple feel about ivy in Washington and Oregon I think it is very brave of us to hold our convention there.

If there is any possibility my address is:

Subject: [GWL] follow-up

Greetings, All,

The edible display garden "Plant a Row.  Share the Bounty." at last week's Yard, Garden and Patio Show in Portland, OR, impressed thousands of gardeners with winning charm and an important message.  Judges chose the garden, designed by Rose Marie Nichols McGee and implemented under the leadership of Garden Chair, Nancy Junge, for an award that could have gone to eight other engaging gardens.  The result of hard work and the contributions of many, the garden celebrated the beauty of edible plants, the strength of community and the generosity of gardeners.

It is impossible to detail the layers of contributions needed to implement the project.  The talents, passions and support of many, including plant and seed growers, business owners, the Oregon Association of Nurseries, local horticulture students, Master Gardeners, Garden Writers Association, and local garden media, assured a successful project.  Our efforts will help our neighbors and strengthen our communities, especially as plants start growing and delicious, nutritious fruits, veggies and flowers wind up on plates that need to be fuller.

Now that the dust has cleared from the YGP, packets of donated seed, piles of informative brochures, and a box of sheets that list businesses serving as links between gardeners and food banks, remain.  They need to be distributed as quickly as possible to PAR projects and to gardeners at upcoming events, like the spring HPSO sale in Hillsboro, the spring Master Gardeners fair in Canby, the Oregon Food Bank Learning Gardens, community gardens, and farmers markets.

I hope you will join me in this next phase of the Oregon/Southwest Washington Plant a Row for the Hungry project.  Please let me know if/how you are able to help.  Congratulations to all involved in sharing the message of PAR.

With warm regards and personal thanks,
Elizabeth
