Speaking Fee Question
Hello, All!
I'm being asked by my local library to give a one hour talk as part of a gardening series. Some of the other speakers have businesses (retail stores) that would ostensibly benefit as a result of their public speaking. I, of course, might secure bookings from other than the library from my speaking.
I haven't been booked by a library so have no idea what kind of fee I should charge for this. Plus, I'd like this to be the first of more bookings so it's possible I would reduce my fee in the interest of future business.
They have asked for fee information so I know they are prepared to pay. I suspect I'll get a range of answers, but I have no clue what's might be right in this situation: what should I charge?
Thanks!
Lorraine
