.docx documents

Has anyone found a converter that works in changing Microsoft's new
.docx format to .doc? I'm getting more and more of these and am
unable to open them. I've tried a couple of on-line converters, but
so far, none has worked. I found one I could buy and download for $5
for the year http://www.docx2doc.com/ Anybody know about this?

I feel like we've stepped way back in time, where all documents had
to be sent text files or embedded in the body of e-mails. Very
inconvenient.

Thank you.
