My Monet Weigela
Hello all,
Has anyone on the list tried My Monet (TM) Weigela? Success or failure
to report? Weigela does well on our heavy clay soil and is relatively
deer-resistant, so a dwarf form would be a very welcome addition to
the plant palette. I did plant two My Monet for a client last fall,
and neither survived the winter -- but we had an unusually dry and hot
summer and fall, followed by a wet winter, so I'm willing to give the
plant another chance... but I'd love to hear any one else's
experience... if you live where you can see the ground yet.
Very chilly and wet early spring here in Cincinnati. (warm zone 6).
Red maples, cornelian cherry, snowdrops, snow crocus, and eranthis in
bloom, with Scilla siberica just showing color. Wild onion growing
wildly, and lawns are just starting to turn green.
