Indexing

The lady I do the Master Gardener show with is interested in doing some
indexing of garden books. Problem is that she doesn't know who to contact, and I
am no help. Is this the sort of think you approach editors with? publishing
houses or authors? If you had a new book where do you look for an index person.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
Kate
