Hi Rich,

Like others, I was first reminded of a Ruellia, but the leaves are
much too linear/rugose and the buds seem too 'puckered'. Then I
thought of a Browallia, but the petals aren't quite right and, again,
the leaves aren't right either. Then I wondered if it could be some
   kind of Abelia or something.

So to help narrow things down:

. Is this a woody plant (i.e. tree, shrub)?
. How large are the flowers?
. How tall is the plant?
. Is this growing outdoors in Connecticut?
. Is this purplish color true, or is it really more pinkish?

   I know, it's a lot of questions. :)

Chris
