I have, with some success. I can tell you the the standard Green Globe
doesn't work well in zone 5 (PA) -- either growing season too short or
mid-summer too hot. Imperial Star is much better for my clime. Emerald may
be better still, but it is hard to find seed. They are a little touchy in
the seedling stage; I generally lose several. And one little quirk: after
the seedlings have a few leaves they like a period of quite cool nights
before planting out, not hard to come by here. The great thing about
artichokes is that even if you get little food, they are very decorative
plants.
