Sorry, I do not know the legal ramifications of doing that. There's a
lawyer on the list, ask him. Or ask the list administrator (not Lon

These two websites, already mentioned in this forum, have collections of
digitized out-of-print books agriculture, gardening, farming, health,
liberty & independence etc.:

From S&H:
---------
This is a free public library offering a tightly focused collection of
books on holistic agriculture, holistic health, self-sufficient
living, and personal development. Most of the titles in this library
are out of print. Some can be quite hard to find; many of these books
are old enough to be public domain materials.
ALSO:

* The books we provide are deciphered with Caere's OmniPage Pro or
ABBYY's FineReader software, using Epson Perfection 1200/1240
flatbed scanners.
How You Can Help
If you admire what is being done here and wish to assist this
effort:
* You can suggest titles for inclusion and discuss the content and
direction of this library. Suggested titles may be old enough to
be public domain or may be newer than that, but must be out of
print. By Australian copyright rules we cannot offer books that
are currently in print unless they are also old enough to be
public domain material.
* You can help scan and prepare books. This can be particularly
enjoyable when you are deeply interested in reading the title or
greatly admire the book. If you already have a flatbed scanner
and
a PC, then this library can assist you to obtain use of effective
optical character recognition software at no cost to you and
provide guidance whilst you do your first book.
* You can make a contribution to help cover the costs of this site.
Expenses are not large, but having a domain name, offering
significant amounts of bytes for free download on the world wide
web, and buying old books do cost. Go to our financial statement.
* You can participate in an ongoing discussion about how to
continue
the work of this library after its founder passes on. If
interested, click here and find out what provisions have already
been made and what more might be done. The personal committment
of
a few remarkable beings will eventually be needed to keep this
library going.

This website also has an elibrary - I don't know whether thay
collaborate with
the public in expanding the collection. I would recommend S&H for this.
