Re: Garden Sales Surge in March - April, despite coolweather and late Easter
Re Susan McCoy's report that sales of home and gardening supplies rose 2.7
percent in April:
Interpreting numbers is something writers are expected to do (and something
I'm working on). I'd love to believe that more and more people are flocking
to garden centres, but wonder how much of that dollar total is simply a
result of price increases and not the number of actual items sold. Is there
some number (the rate of inflation, for example) beyond which one can truly
say sales are increasing?
