RE: Computer question

hi lon, tom here (donnas husband that doesn't normally read the gw list -
but she's away) one method is to simply use html to "point" at a graphic on
a server - for instance - <a href="img src="http://205.49.59.3/test.gif">
that way, the only thing in the email is the text and when it is opened it
goes and "gets" the image...

Subject: [GWL] Computer question

I received a piece of spam from Taiwan that amazed me. Not the ad itself,
but the fact that it had a color photo and graphics that I would have
expected to require at least 10 to 20 kb, and yet the letter was only ONE
kb.
Does anyone know how they can get that much information in so little
bandwidth (if I understand that term right).

The only clue I might offer is that the letter did take about a minute to
open all the way.
