I can if they're separate attachments (not HTMLized), but I can't view
them in my mailer. If I need to view them I save them to disk and fire
up an image viewer, or if I'm at work and logging into this account
remotely I save them temporarily to my Web page and view them through
a browser.
Usually the context of the email tells me if it's worth going through the
effort or not. Usually it isn't. :)
Mailing lists are a different story. I can strip out HTML and still allow
certain attachment types like JPG, GIF, and PNG. However, some attachment
types with extensions ending in .COM, .PIF, .SCR, .BAT, .EXE, and other
known executable extensions are usually purged.
I have a feeling that I'm drifting far from the garden writing arena
here, so if anyone wants to discuss any of this further, feel free to
write to me personally.
Chris
