I use a citronella base spray to repel mosquitos. I am not sure if it works on deer flies. The only thing that I know works on deer flies is Repel X or Wipe which I have to use on my horses if it has been really damp and I want to ride in the park. The deer flies like river territory or marshland, both of which are in abundance in Connetquot Park. I do know that I tried one of those electronic mosquito repellers, and it seemed to work, but I could never find it when I wanted to go outside.
