RE: H. Fred Ale

Can't say for sure but I suspect that the man in question is H. Fred
Dale, a well known Canadian garden writer in the 1960s/70s.  Interesting
how what was probably one typo is now repeated on the many web sites
listing that quote.

Who is/was H. Fred Ale, who is often quoted as saying,  "My green thumb
came
only as a result of the mistakes I made while learning to see things
from
the plant's point of view."

A Google search turns up the quote on many pages, but I can't find
anything
about the man. Anyone know?
