I sent an e-query plus scout photos to Doug Hall at Better Homes last week regarding an unusual, very photogenic garden in Southern California. He replied the next day that they have a "convoluted" way of producing articles there, and that the scout for an article rarely writes it. I doubt the owner of this garden would be comfortable with anyone else writing the article (she's the wife of a Hollywood actor--but doesn't want that part played up, which I haven't in another article I did for a regional). I just wanted to know what kind of experience other GWAA members have had with BHG. I haven't written for them before. I did mention in my query my numerous garden writing credentials, including my lastest book Readers's Digest Flower Gardening. Thanks for any input,
Julie Bawden Davis
