Thanks, everyone for your comments. I'd already looked up the plants 
on line and am with Carolyn Ulrich -- the sun in England would be a 
different intensity than what we have here in the Midwest (or 
southern California), for that matter.

And here in the Midwest, what were first marketed at "sun impatiens," 
the New Guinea impatiens, don't do that great in full sun. In my 
experience, they take just a touch more sun than regular bedding 
impatiens (I. wallerana).

Like Gerald, I'll try one of the new ones to see how they do. I'm a 
little surprised that garden writers didn't get any info on the 
introduction of these new plants.
