Re: GWA Membership
In the world of such professional organizations, GWA dues are pretty low. I pay $500. per year to belong to the National Speakers Association! For that group, and for GWA, Lois was absolutely right: you have to make a point of using what they offer. I agree that the best use of GWA is to attend the annual meetings - I am constantly using photographs I take during our "speed photography" garden tours. I use the annual meetings to book guests on GardenLine which helps other members get the word out about their products/books. And I enjoy helping others who are not as far along as I am - at the meeting in Chicago a fellow GWA member came up to me and said that her dream was to have a radio program - I have been mentoring her over the phone since, and am now cheering as she goes on the air this month!
Yes, we all have a wish list of all the other things we'd like GWA to do. But even if it stays at the level it is now, I feel like I"m getting a bargain.
