The product I mentioned before, Zeba, is cornstarch based.  Their  
website is www.zeba.com, but I bought it from amazon.  Sandie wrote  
that there may be marketing/distribution changes with Zeba in the  
future.
The soy based products have other applications such as hair care (???)  
wound dressing and drug encapsulation according to the Agricultural  
Research Service, not horticultural yet as far as I know.
Soil Moist and Terra Sorb are both polyacrylamide products.
