I don't believe corn gluten meal inhibits germination of tap-rooted
plants such as dandelions. CGM only destroys a plant's ability to
form anchor roots, and that defeats weeds such as crabgrass. As I
understand it. Margaret Lauterbach

According to Nick Christians who has been studying the effects of corn
gluten (CGM) at Iowa State University for more than ten years...a fall application
of CGM will control dandelions.
