Re: Selection

 Hi Everyone,

We have good independent garden centers here in Sussex County, in NW NJ,
despite the presence of 3 big box stores. Within a 15-minute drive, I'm
guessing we have nearly 10 excellent places to shop. I have been heavily
into mail order my entire life, in order to get the perennials I want. I
am also not beyond driving 1.5 hours to nurseries in PA, although I have
to be careful about zones, being in 5B.

Most of my shrubs are mature and I look for specialized ornamentals and
native plants. I drive to Bowman's Hill Wildflower Farm for their
twice-yearly sales. The plants are healthy, survive, native to PA and NJ,
and the money goes to support this fabulous educational facility.

Patience and persistence pays off. i usually get what I want.

Regards,
Lois
