Re: deer damage?

Donna Courtney, owner of Cedar hedge Gardens in Northern Michigan...dubbed
the Hosta Lady...(has over 1,000 Hostas...knows every name in her garden,
raises, sells, hybridizes them). I wrote an article on her a few years
ago...

Every fall she weed-whacks them to the ground, claiming they come back
better the following year and no dying foliage to contend with. I know this
isn't fall, but if they look really awful it shouldn't hurt them, so long as
they are established plants with good root systems.
