Where to buy Ferula Asafoetida plants or seeds
Hi Everyone,
I'm looking for a source of plants or seeds for Ferula Asafoetida (also
spelled Assafoetida) -- the main ingredient of the infamous "asafoetida
bag" worn by slaves (and some of my elementary school classmates in the
1950s). I'm trying to help a docent at an historical site that has a
medicinal garden that was tended by slaves. If anyone has a recipe for
the bag, that would help, too.
Chinese doctors say they have found that asafoetida has antiviral
properties, but my own theory is that it stinks so badly nobody would
come close enough to infect you.
Thanks to everyone who responded to my previous question about ground
ivy.
Regards,
Lois
