Alas, no. The newer the plant, the less info is generally available online.
Missouri Botanical Garden's site is very good and trustworthy.
If Plant Delights sells it, Tony Avent will have written something funny about it.
If a plant has a patent #, uspto.gov has info on where the plant came from and who "invented" it.
If it's part of a program/brand, e.g. Plants Nouveau, Blooms of Bressingham, etc., the brand owner can be counted on for some breathless deathless prose describing why you must have it, written by someone like me.
And so on.
