Re: rooting gel advice?

Doug asked: Why do you use rooting gels?

Hi, Doug!

I like them for a several reasons. First, I get a kick out of seeing the progress of the roots developing. I'm always amazed by plants and I just think it's fun (I know, I'm weird!). Second, I'm notoriously neglectful and often forgot to keep moisture levels up. This gel fixed that. Third, I was able to do layered rooting vertically right on the plant, a much easier technique than the traditional method.

Unlike you, I haven't done side by side trials like I did for the self watering containers. What I do know unequivocally is that my personal success rate is way up with the gel vs without. That's enough for me.
