Ellen, isn't pokeweed only to be eaten when it's very young and do not
eat the berries?
Kate, the poke root is huge and you will have to grub it out. I've had
them the size of a (large) loaf of bread. The berries attract flocks of
Robins in the fall, so I let them grow in outlying areas. Otherwise, it
takes the Cobrahead or a pry-bar to unearth them.
