Many
gardeners, myself included, have dog-eared copies of these two plantaholics' 23
illustrated books, on everything from shrubs and perennials to vegetables and
David Austin roses. The two new books are "Trees and Shrubs" and "Perennials and
Annuals," Volumes I and II, respectively, of "The Botanical Garden," just
published by Firefly Books for $75 each. The books have the same delightful
presentation as the earlier works. The plants this time around, however, are
organized from what botanists consider to be the most primitive to the most
highly developed.
