Re: String bean = pole bean?

Nan, Not according to my upbringing! String beans is a term that is no longer used because green beans are now 'stringless'. String beans are green beans. Pole beans are the broad vining type, more flavorful, and usually a little tougher.

Can anyone tell me whether I am correct in thinking that string beans are the same as pole beans?
