The Canadian Forest Service has a 'next phase' in the same project that
brought out the revised Canadian Plant Hardiness Zone Map in 2001. They've
developed a site where gardeners and professionals can register (for free)
and submit hardiness data on a huge list of plants, including trees,
shrubs, evergreens, perennials, grasses, ferns and natives. It's now to the
point where we are fine tuning the plant list to include as many things as
might possibly be found in Canadian gardens.
This link will take you right to the site, and it explains itself pretty
well.

Also, if you or anybody you know is interested in participating in the data
entry part of the project, it can be done online or by submitting a
spreadsheet with bulk data if that's easier. We're looking for information
on plants that are actually growing in the ground for a minimum of three
years on the site, even ones that might not be in your current production.
If you know of other people who might be interested in participating, by
all means help us out and spread the word.
