I agree with you. If they're not informative, they're not composed correctly. I wonder how old this person is who remembers before the days when there were subheads. I think they were used in newspapers, at least, throughout the 20th century, and perhaps earlier. Margaret Lauterbach
I disagree. I think that subheads should be visually useful as well as informative, and many subheads do the job successfully.
