I don't know about your ISP, but I have had very good results reporting such scams to my ISP.  They have been able to both block them and report them to the legal authorities.  Usually that's the easiest and safest thing to do.  When you do, be sure to include the source information on it.  Go to your menu where it should say something like "view" and pull down the menu.  That should give you a choice like "source" which will show you a version of the letter with all the html codes revealed.  Copy that, then hit forward to forward the letter itself, and paste in the source material at the beginning or the end before you send it to your ISP.  That will give them more information to track the scam back and increase the chances of them being able to stop it.

Has anyone heard of this? Over the past two week I have received two emails from support@wordofmouthinfo.info telling me that "Someone has just begun to research your background via our website. This email has been automatically sent to you so as to make you aware that your background is being looked into."

So if you go to the website to find out what the hell any of this means--I tell you it feels quite disconcerting to get an email like this--you discover that if you pay $19.97 for a year you can become a 'power user' and find out (maybe?) what if anything which people are saying about you. Sounds like a huge scam to me.

Has anybody heard of this? Please contact me either on or off-list. It sounds very weird to me. Frankly, I dismissed the 1st email as a scam and promptly forgot about it, but the 2nd one has me quite POd.
