Re: Search engines
hello Lon,
I've tried to send a reply to all in response to Bruce's query. It won't go
and I'm getting an error message that's new to me.

I tried to send it to Bruce and then cut and pasted it onto an earlier post
by you and same problem. Maybe it's my system and maybe something else. Hope
you are still enjoying a nice post Thanksgiving.

Hello Bruce
Well, yes all sweet potato vines are edible, and you can harvest at the end
of the growing season. When I saw them at our local Farmer's market this
fall, I asked how to prepare them and these were the suggestions. You see
one Phillipino vendor sold them to me and two others recognized them in my
basket. Strip the leaves from the coarsest vines and steam or lightly saute
washed greens in a large skillet with a little oil. Cover with a lid for
three or four minutes. The standard seasoning is soy sauce or fish sauce and
a few drops of vinegar. A variation is to serve it with tomato wedges (The
national breakfast of the Phillipines or so I was told). Saute the greens
with some pork or chicken and again season with fish sauce or soy sauce and
a few drops of vinegar. I sauteed the wet greens and season with fish sauce
and vinegar with a few drops of hot pepper sauce and we all thought they
were very good. Certainly the surprised delight from the vendors added to my
enjoyment!
