Seed Exchange Event

Hi all! I've been sending out the following letter to seed companies and
related garden suppliers. Last night, it occurred to me that some garden writers
and publishers might also be interested in being part by donating books or
other promotional items for the door prize pool. I know that our magazine has had
good experiences donating subscriptions to local charity auctions, business
events, etc. If interested, you can contact me off-list at the information below.

You may have heard our exciting news! Washington Gardener magazine is
partnering with the US National Arboretum to host a live, in-person seed exchange on
Saturday, January 28 from 12:30-4:00 pm.

We are contacting garden-related companies in search of the following:
~ Seeds (enough for 125 attendees to have at least one each)
~ Door prizes (items related to seed growing and gardening)

We will divide trading tables into the following categories: perennials,
annuals, edibles, tropicals, natives, and woodies. Our goal is for every attendee
to leave with a goodie bag full of wonderful seeds, in addition to the ones
they have traded with each other.

In exchange, we would like to offer to donors:
~ Sponsor Listing in Washington Gardener magazine
~ Sponsor Links in Washington Gardener’s web site and enewletters
~ Recognition on onsite signs at the event inside the US National Arboretum
~ Recognition in the event brochure given out to attendees
~ 10% discount off advertising in Washington Gardener publications throughout
2006*

Please let us know at your earliest convenience if you would like to
participate in this unique event.
Have a wonderful and prosperous 2006!

Sincerely,
Kathy
