Why is that a problem? I say, more bangs for the bucks. And the  does.
 

Here in  Michigan the Potato Gun has proven to be simple and   
effective.  Essentially, it's a piece of PVC pipe, a good sized potato,  
a can of  hair spray and a pistol grip grill lighter. Only problem is  
they do  make a bang.
