Re: GWL - Borders/WaldenBooks
At the GWA meeting in Raleigh, the publisher of Cool Springs Press predicted that Borders -- as a whole -- would go out of business.
First, all the independents and now the chains are beginning to follow.... Very sad.

Borders Group Inc., the nation's second-largest bookstore chain, said
it will close 200 of its Waldenbooks mall stores in January, laying
off approximately 1,500 employees, many of whom work part-time.
The move, which the chain signaled earlier this year, will leave
Borders with about 130 mall-based locations. Borders employs about
25,000, including part-timers.
