Blooms Tour 2010 - Press Day

Hi all, here is what is in store for the Press Day on this tour...

Adrian Bloom?s Day at The Bressingham Gardens

July 8th, 2010

Save the Date: Mark your calendar now for Thursday, July 8, 2010, for a full
day of inspiration, photo opportunities and much useful information for
future articles.

Program Highlights

?	Theme: A very special press event about plants, gardens and
gardening. Adrian Bloom will provide insights on how his new book on
Gardening with Perennials and Grasses will guide the day?s theme: getting
more people interested in plants and gardening.

?	Gardens: Tour the expansive Bressingham Gardens with Adrian Bloom
and other expert garden staff. The gardens cover 17 densely planted acres
with over 8,000 varieties. Tried and tested plants and new design ideas have
long been developed, right up to today. The late Alan Bloom?s Dell garden
features his trend-setting island beds ? 47 of them ? designed with
perennials and grasses. There is also a Winter Garden, a Fragrant Garden and
a Summer Garden. Adrian Bloom?s Foggy Bottom garden is famous for year-round
color and interest, using woody plants with perennials and grasses. Adrian?s
Wood, his newest garden, is planted entirely with North American-origin
plants as a tribute to plants from that continent. A focal point of the
garden are ?Giant Redwoods? brought back as seeds in the 1960s from
California. Planted in 1964, amazingly, the trees are now 80 feet tall.

?	Plants: See new 2010 introductions, along with time-tested plants.

?	Debate the issue: A panel of well known horticulturists, chaired by
Adrian Bloom, will give their views and ideas on how we can get more people
interested in ornamental gardening. Come and take part in the debate.
Contributions from the audience are welcome.

?	Networking: Enjoy a buffet lunch and socialize with garden writers
from the UK and North America, exploring news, ideas and opinions on
gardening and horticulture.
