Re: Garden Thugs
Trandescantia virginiana, spiderwort. A nightmare. It has come up everywhere, in potted annual arrangements, cracks in the driveway...I have one big clump that I've dug out at least six times in the last ten years--I gave a big chunk of it to a cable guy, he wanted it! and I hope he has forgotten our address- I cannot get rid of it, even with herbicides (gasp)
Sweet Autumn clematis is also on my list. I have some and hack on it mercilessly and it still blooms its' heart out. It too has come up in places where I never put it.

Am working away on our Winter issue. The cover story is Garden Thugs. I'd
like to do a Top 10 (at least as that number may expand as I keep
researching), so I put it to you all --
ASIDE from Ivy, bamboo, and vinca, WHAT PLANT IS IN YOUR GARDEN (or a
client's garden) that you wish you had NEVER planted there due to its
aggressive, spreading , thuggish nature?
Sincerely,
Kathy Jentz
