Re: [GWL]: a garden tour to Philly

The Philadelphia area is one of the world's best places for garden touring.
Not only do we have the gardens of Philadelphia and its outlying suburbs,
but we're close to Longwood Gardens and Winterthur. I live near Chanticleer,
and it is as good or better than the buzz. However, it is closed during the
winter and reopens sometime in April. The Philadelphia Flower Show is held
in early March, and nothing much is blooming outdoors here at that time.
Regional gardens are fantastic in April, and on through summer and fall.

Spring wildflowers are a feature at Winterthur, in Delaware. In mid-April,
its woodlands are carpeted with Virginia bluebells and Italian windflowers,
and much more.
