Carol,

    The good garden shows are great fun. They also like to have garden
authors come and speak, give demonstrations, and sign books. If you're
talking at a show, you can use that as an excuse to contact the media in
that area and they'll often give you very good coverage. Free PR. I am now
just dying to go the big Flower and Garden show in Philly.
