[GWL]: Dumb ideas

A psychiatrist friend admitted that in her early years of marriage she tried
a small vegetable garden; she did well with the lettuce, tomatoes, and
peppers, but had no luck with the radishes. She had planted them 12 seeds
in a tight little circle; so that the radishes would grow in bunches just as
they are sold in the grocery store.
A doctor and his wife, a nurse (meaning educated) moved into the house
across the street. Seeing our gardens and noting the complete lack of
plants on their new property, they went to the garden center and bought
about a dozen six packs of various annuals. After watching the six paks sit
on the front steps and dry out and dry out, Liz went over to explain to the
young couple that they needed either to water the six paks or get the
plants into the ground. They had not realized you were supposed to plant
the seedlings in the ground.
A couple we knew bought a fancy schmancy house on the main line outside of
Philadelphia. They hired a landscaper to decorate the new property with
flowers. They bought over $3000 of annuals, not realizing that they did not
come back next year.
Later,

Jeff Ball
