[GWL]: anthrax

RE: The anthrax scare down here in Florida.

A recent TV news report alluded to a natural form of anthrax found in soil.
A radio report noted that fertilizer was among items being tested in the
home of the South Florida man, Bob Stevens -- a reputed enthusiastic
gardener -- who died from anthrax a few days ago. (The anthrax germs
finally were found on his computer keyboard at work.) Can a more
scientifically oriented member fill us in on the relationship between
anthrax and gardening? (A third report said Stevens' case was the first
since the 1970s.)
Thanks,
Gerri Bauer
