Nice post, Carol. I've been feeling the same way but hadn't gotten it
together to write anything. I've had apprentences who didn't know how
Brussel sprouts grew, what a celariac was, or the diffference between a
cation and an anion who have since become farmers--good farmers! Also,
having learned a great deal from books rather than conversation, I am
forever mispronouncing names. I like being corrected but I dislike it when
someone sneers at my ignorance. I figure that the person is narrow-spirited
and leave it at that. I certainly don't go out of my way to continue the
relationship.
