I've got a slightly different problem. I use a laptop exclusively and when I'm in the office it's docked...no problem. When I'm home it's in my lap...it's hot, hurts my wrists after prolonged use due to the unnatural angle. Would love to switch to a wireless keyboard but then I loose my mouse or touchpad. There used to be corded keyboards with rollerballs but those seem to have disappeared as well. Any ideas would be appreciated.
IMHO - ergonomic keyboards are a pain in the hand. Tried one of those split keyboards at the nursery and nobody would use it, including me.

I too use a laptop at the nursery and on the road. Have a regular plug in keyboard and mouse at my desk at home that stays there. Another at the office. Duplication to be sure but easier on the body. The only time I have to use the laptop keyboard is when I'm on the road.

No opinion on wireless - don't see the advantage though.
