RE: Startling statistic
I think it's regional. In the NE, you can easily find "organic" products
at garden suppliers. But that's not so in Florida, where I am now
living. And judging from comments from friends and family members, very
few stores in Canada, the Midwest, and various other locales rarely
stock these products or stock only a small selection.
I encourage friends and family--as well as people who come to me for
advice, to request these products so that suppliers will change their
buying habits.

I have to conclude that there is no significant organic
movement among gardeners in this country, and I don't like that idea.
