Re: Editing issues


Fran,

I've noticed this also; seems like just the last few years.  Seems to
occur in just about any written media with jolting regularity.  I
have just assumed that it was partly lack of education in the younger
generation and partly the use of computers and dependence on
spell-checkers, which often pass a word because it is a word, not
because it's the right word.  I have also noticed an odd lack of
punctuation, which I put down to "writing style" or something.  It
often does make it difficult to figure out exactly what is being
said.

Seems like many of you on the list are print media editors - what is
your take on this issue?
